Rumi: Two types of intelligence

There are two kinds of intelligence: one acquired,
as a child in school memorizes facts and concepts
from books and from what the teacher says,
collecting information from the traditional sciences
as well as from the new sciences.

With such intelligence you rise in the world.
You get ranked ahead or behind others
in regard to your competence in retaining
information. You stroll with this intelligence
in and out of fields of knowledge, getting always
more marks on your preserving tablets.

There is another kind of tablet, one
already completed and preserved inside you.
A spring overflowing its springbox. A freshness
in the centre of the chest. This other intelligence
does not turn yellow or stagnate. It’s fluid,
and it does not move from outside to inside
through the conduits of plumbing-learning.

This second knowing is a fountainhead
from within you, moving out.

Chakras + Light

Chakras and Light | Camera: SX-70 Polaroid Camera | Film: Impossible Project Colour Shade | When a mistake becomes an unexpected something that you love.

My vision is for the second kind of intelligence to be present in our social systems. In education, business, government, media, economics.  Heart at the centre. Can you imagine?

  1. Thats beautiful. I so love this picture. It is the most gorgeous mistake ever. I have just been teaching Atlas that light moves in straight lines. But you bend light while it is still developing and look what happens!! Darren is just off to do chakra reading this weekend so you timing is also most excellent. We have been talking chakras all morning xX

    • Anything is possible with impossible film because of the very fact that it is impossible. Do so love the Chakra reads and haven’t done one for a while. Going to change that! You have a bloody great silhouette x x
